Boštjan Jurečič


Painter, art theorist and journalist Boštjan Jurečič was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1969. He studied and graduated from economics at the Faculty of Economics of University Ljubljana, then went on to study painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of University Ljubljana, where he graduated in 1998. He works as a journalist at RTV Slovenija, Slovenia’s national TV and radio broadcaster, covering visual arts, architecture, classical music etc. He is active as a painter regularly exhibiting his work. Notable group shows include Villa Manin, Italy, Kunstlerhaus, Vienna, Gliptoteka, Zagreb, Koroška Gallery, Slovenj Gradec etc. Notable solo shows include Bežigrad Gallery, Ljubljana, Monfort Gallery, Portorose etc. His book A Study on the Parallels between Visual Art and Music: The Big Misconception was published in 2020 by Cambridge Scholars.
